How do we speak (pronounce)?

  How do we speak (pronounce)?
In theory we talk by speaking, and speak by pronouncing deferent letters. That is a fact, at least to me, but how does that happen?
We play a continues tone from the back of the mouth, then break it with other parts of the mouth, like , tongue, teeth, lips, back of the mouth, this gives the deferent sounds of deferent letters.
But, sense all human races came from one human, that was, Adam, why now we have thousands of languages? While our ancestors spoke only one? And what was that language?
If you know why, please share that knowledge with us, if you dont, just wait for someone to  do so.

Thanks

As you may infer from my daring introduction, I am not blessed by the knowledge of your beautiful native language, which puts me in a weak position.

Anyway, your blog is so deep in meanings and so intense in provoking thoughts that I am happy you decided to share it with us. Thank you!!

The question you pose is very interesting and I will try to "explain" the seemingly odd circumstances that provoked changes in our ways of speaking, even the same language, as it was taught to me in the Linguistic courses I attended some years ago.

Of course, all this information is in the theory stage and can be challenged by other better, subtler, and more spiritual theories.

The first step toward the unexpected changes occurred when tribes grew so big they had to separate and go away in search of new territories.

The second step was the diversity of our natural world, and the last step was the coming
back in contact of some tribes after a long time of separation.

This last type of event is currently happening since Earth has reduced its size due to global interaction.

Following the Linguistic trail we find that, even speaking the same language there are deep differences, but in the primeval roots we find they are almost the same.

These differences are more significant when we face languages of different roots, but then again, deep into their primeval development there are always some clues pointing to a unique source.

One simple sample of these circumstances is the use of "general" and "particular" words.

For instance: mother and father seems to keep a very similar sound even in very different languages, showing that they are ancient spoken sounds, while the word that means "sea" is normally different in almost all language no related by root, which seems to point a newer coined word related to the difference in time when people make contact with the sea.

I want to emphasize that this is only a theory and not a total truth.

From the People of the Book, you can collect the story about Babel Tower which is a beautiful and spiritual way to explain how every language spawned from a sole source.

I am sorry about the length of this comment, I tried to be concise but it is not an easy subject to deal with in few words!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell something about languages, one of my interests and preferred issues.

    1. Thank you my friend for all the logic you showed here,
some say that Isolation of groups made them turnout with new language with time, also that seems logic to me, but, still doesn’t give enough answer..

      thanks for sharing

  2. You Pose some interesting questions in your Blog. I guess people were traveling as the langueges developed and, being apart when new words were needed they invented different words. A simplistic answer, but I hope it has sense in it. http://johncbuchanan.blogspot.com/

  3. well i believe as people moved away from each other making different colonies so their way of learning things and language also changed... every group followed different path to communication developing different languages...

  5. Good Morning Jar S Hail. Thank you for joining my "Family of Readers" through Bloggers.com. I hope you will enjoy my blog and that it will give you a deeper hunger for God's Word and uplift you when your spirit needs it. I have joined you as well.

As far as your question about how we came to speak different languages, it explains it in Genesis 11 of the Bible. To summarize it, God didn't like the motive of the people for building the tower. They were building it to be famous and so that they would not be scattered all over the earth, so God made everyone speak in different languages so they couldn't understand one another and would go to different places. I hope it will help you.

It states: (1)And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. (2)And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3)And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

(4)And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. (5) And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

(6)And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. (7)Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

(8)So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
(9)Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

    God Bless,
    PJ

    1. Hi PJ,
Nice to see you here my friend,
Happy to see your point of view
      also, thanks for that..

Also, I like to comment on your share here,
The Lord doesn’t have to come down to see as HE knows and sees while being Up there..

Another thing, as a basic fact, HE created humans primerly to worship HIM & develop the earth to be suitable for living for all creatures,

HE also said that He made the humans in Nations & tribes so that they know that, The better of them is who believes in HIM better <<

      Thanks again
